Last not least

I know that I am not quite forward organized in my project plan yet I learn from my mistakes. I learn lot from this class and I believe it will help me in the future many different ways. I think backward organize people are not bad as far as they get the job done. There will not be problem to work bottom-up and not necessarily work up-down.This is what many people do not understand. Working or planning bottom-up works for and I love it what I did. I learn lot of things in this class. Thank you everybody. Thanks to Professor Gaskins. Thank you all. Have great summer.

Problems and its Solutions

The nomad communities in the Horn of Africa need development. The biggest problem they have is the underdevelopment world they live. They have no food, water and basic education. The solution of these problems would not unless they settle and adopt a sedentary lifestyle. However, it needs hard work and deep thinking to change the lifestyle of these communities. The development of these communities one would need first to form a new ideas which different from many other old or stereotypical idea. They need new – fresh and sustainable philosophy.

The nomad communities of Horn of Africa need help to help themselves. This help or development initiatives could be break into inner and outer needs of the development. They can't develop their outside world unless they simultaneously develop their inner life. Here is where the old, new worldview connection applies. These connections first happen within the human brain which is one brain with two sides. First, these two sides needs connection because all the temper, fight, hate, war are failures of the connection - the two sides of the brain. Second, if this connection happens successfully then connect into the body, mind and selves follows. Finally, connect into outer world whether is old or new are possible which is most the needed development.
Nomad communities need to develop both material and immaterial world. There are lots of problems starts from the myth that can't produce sustainable ideas to the harsh realities that can't help them to settle into sedentary life. They want to develop within their traditions and culture. They need to develop sustainable myth that capable to produce new idea connects old worldviews into the current new worldviews which improves their realities. They need to enter the current civil societies around the world that lives in civil life with rule of law and human rights. They need to preserve their art, craft, literature, and technology while they need to develop in the area of art, media, technology and community.

This is my new logo. I change the earlier one because it does not carry the theme. My theme will be “Nomad Connection” Origin is just an extension for the Development. This one shows sense of improvement. There is always room for improvemant for me. I want to use same colors in my layouts. My favorite color is brown. I also like the light green and the blue. My project is to show a community picture and how the life used to be in Horn of African nomad community and how it progressing from eary stage up to now. Project Description

My project is to show a community picture and how the life used to be in Horn of African nomad community and how it progressing from early stage up to now. With this in mind I would like to make a website that I can organize my thoughts, pictures, music and researches. In this website there will be a cultural product which will be available for sell in the future.

As a student of community portrait I would like to present the needs and the resources of Horn of African nomadic communities. The resources are what the community has originally whether is material or immaterial and the needs are what wish to have. It is a development that they struggling with. The physical development will not happen unless the metaphysical development takes place. This will take me one step back looking their culture of original and one step forward to look how to develop that culture. Then, I would like to hook up the past to the present life. Obviously, I will not escape some philosophical issue that both traditional and contemporary life is involved. I will try my best to cover most of what have mentioned in my brainstorm. If I could not, it will be a good learning experience for me.

After, I realize that I can’t accomplish the entire thing I mention my old flowchart. I change it to this one. I think, this will be more realistic to accomplish.

Brainstorm

Old Worldview

In my project I want to connect the old worldview that is audiovisual into the new worldview which is verbal and kinesthetic. There is no doubt that the people in this world can conceive a material thing in same manner but they can perceive immaterial thing differently. This means; for instance, we can conceive a concrete thing like hot and cold same way but we do not perceive abstract concepts in same manner.

In early day of life as a young boy I use to think always a way to develop the most backward societies and communities in the world. After long time of thinking I come to conclusion the problem of these communities is that they did not realized that the art, media, technology and the community itself is our own extension. So when the connection comes the solution will come and it is the putting together those pieces. Then, the desired prospers and the development will follow.

New Worldview

In this project I am going to look the origin and the development of one particular group like Horn of African community such as Somali Nomads and Somali contemporary society. Especially, their cultural myth, ideal, reality and civic and how it extended from their early or contemporary art, media, technology and community in general.

In order to understand deeply the intensity of extension I am going to discuses the Old Worldview which is the source of the fragmental world that separates the body its soul and the mind it’s self. It is the world that isolates information into many different specialties such as Humanities, Philosophy, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences

To balance all of these faculties I am going to exam the New Worldview which connects together these pieces into big wholeness and that is the development. The theory of left brain right brain will help to connect these two worldviews because the right brain is the main source of energy that connects to left brain for balance and harmony.

Multimedia the connection

Multimedia is a connection among many different things. They might be art, like painting, photographing and any other image capturing activity. They might be sound art, like poetry and music which right brain is more incline into it. It could be a myth like old cave painting which express the feeling of the person who draw them. This might represent as picture or sculpture. It may be an ideal that represent as a sound like reciting poetry or famous speeches, where someone records what important for him or her like music.

The biggest connection of multimedia happened when it reaches a community level. This are the times of festivals, celebrations and many other civil gatherings. The time of civil gathering many multimedia are taking place such as cultural displays both in material and immaterial. This is when right brain meets left brain. Community show what they produce abstractly to connect what they produce in reality which is concretely. At this time, community pulls together it is heritage into one big culture event. It is when the use of technology is so important.

No matter what kind of technology cassette player, radio, TV and Computer the connection of multimedia will take place whether is in pen and paper, feather and tablet or cinema or photographic or DVD. Artists, philosophers, civil leaders and technologists are the connectors. They either possess right brain or the left brain but in the time of community gathering it is a time of connection.
